In the months ahead, the Leelanau County Board of Commissioners will hear from various governmental organizations hoping to present funding requests to voters in the 2020 elections. At its executive meeting in February, the county board is slated to hear from Leelanau County Road Commission Manager Justin Kelenske and Finance Director Joe Nedow about voter renewal of a half-mill property tax levy. *** Northport residents opposed to the village ordinances allowing both medical-marijuana and recreational-marijuana facilities may have their say in voting booths this November. Village of Northport clerk Joni Scott said she has validated the signatures on two petitions seeking to repeal the village’s opt-in to medical marijuana and to prohibit recreational-marijuana establishments in the village.
