Lake Leelanau St. Mary girls basketball took care of business against Traverse City St. Francis Monday 55-36.
The Eagles were led by four players: Kyla Barnowski scored the team’s leading 16 points, followed by Cathryn Mikowski’s 10 points, MacKenzie Schaub’s 11 points, and Lydia Bramer’s nine points.
The Eagles (8-3) overall travel to Beal City today.
Kylee Eising led the Gladiators with 11 points and seven rebounds; Helen Biggar scored 8 points and 5 rebounds; Tessa Asher scored 4 points and 7 rebounds; Harper Nausadis scored 4 points.
St. Francis travels to Roscommon Friday.
Glen Lake girls basketball only had one game last week and lost to Buckley 50-39.
Lydia Fosmore led the Lakers with 13 points and 16 rebounds. Laila Shimek had 10 points and five rebounds, and Grace Noonan had nine points.
“We faced another tough conference opponent. As a team, we shot poorly on the field. We keep seeing bright spots, but we have just struggled to play well consistently,” Fosmore said. “The girls are continuing to have good attitudes and are working hard to improve.”
Grand Traverse Academy defeated Suttons Bay 41-20 Monday.
Brooke Wilson led the Norse with 7 points, 2 rebounds; Keke Williams 4 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists; Ada Wetherbee 3 points; Zay TwoCrow 2 points, 2 rebounds; Leah Clarke 2 points; Anna Porter 2 points; Bella Wilson 10 rebounds.
As of press time, Suttons Bay (1-10, 0-5) had traveled to Glen Lake yesterday.
