To the editor:
Linda and I were returning home from church this afternoon, and I came off Darga Road onto Sullivan going north, slid off the road, and landed in a snow drift! Unfortunately, I didn’t have the equipment needed to get free. It’s not a well traveled road, but after ten minutes, Kyle Stroh and Ashley Bird stopped to see if we needed help. They didn’t have a shovel or any other tools but said they would get a shovel and come right back. As they arrived a young man, Caleb Herrmann, stopped to offer help. He had a strap to attach to the front of our car to help pull us out. With Caleb and Kyle working together, they freed us from the snow so we could be on our way! I got out of the car and shook their heads and offered them money for their gift of kindness. Each of them said they wouldn’t accept any money because they were doing what they wanted to do to assist us in our time of need! Their actions today are a reminder for all of us that random acts of kindness never get old. Thank you, Kyle, Ashley and Caleb!!
