To the editor:
If you didn’t know it before, you know it now. Democracy is under attack. The attempted takeover of the American government by Trump, Musk et. al. is so bald-faced, illegal, and damaging there’s no ignoring it. Here’s the fortunate part: the hostile takeover is also illthought out and mangled in execution; and has awakened even those who might’ve been willing to support some of the aims of this administration’s “fixes”… to the economy, to the immigration system, to our debt.
But breaking things is not the same as fixing things. There’s a process. And this process (called democracy) has been ruptured, and we the American people are being robbed of our rights as citizens. We did not elect Trump or Musk (at all) to put our sensitive personal data or our national security at risk.
