To the editor:
Many of President Trump’s executive orders seem far removed from our daily lives. His order to freeze all executive branch hiring is an exception. The Leelanau Ticker reports that the freeze will negatively impact our beloved Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore: their staffing level will be 1/3 of what it needs to be. While we all have a love/hate relationship with tourists who visit our slice of paradise, tourists having a bad experience here will hurt all of us. Let’s contact our congressional representatives and ask them to press President Trump to lift the freeze.
