Federal assistance for the Leelanau Peninsula’s eroding shoreline due to high water levels of the Great Lakes may be on the horizon. A group of local municipalities are banding together to each draft similar resolutions that involve asking Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer and the state legislature to declare Michigan’s shoreline a disaster area in hopes of procuring funds from U.S. Congress and U.S. President Donald Trump. *** Bailey Rosinski will spend the next 22 to 50 years in prison for her role in the robbery and assault of her grandparents in Cedar on Jan. 10, 2019. Rosinski, 25, of Cedar was convicted last month in 13th Circuit Court of armed robbery, assault with intent to commit armed robbery, assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder, and assault with a dangerous weapon.
