Cruise ships on the Great Lakes won’t be making further stops at the Leelanau Peninsula anytime soon. In a press release issued Wednesday, Discovery Center Great Lakes in Elmwood Township announced it will no longer serve as a port for visiting cruise ships. In comments to the Leelanau Enterprise, Discover Center CEO Matt McDonough said the practice didn’t align with the organization’s mission. *** A Cedar area family is among the 60 million people currently in lockdown in Italy over the coronavirus.
