Students score interviews at SB job fair

The Suttons Bay Public Schools Summer Job Fair was held last Thursday, connecting students with local employers eager to fill seasonal positions. Seventeen businesses participated in this year’s event, representing a variety of industries, including hospitality, retail, agriculture, and recreation.

The event, hosted in partnership with the Suttons Bay Chamber of Commerce, welcomed students ages 14 and up, as well as school staff, to explore summer employment opportunities. Participating businesses included Forget Me Not Florist, Bayside Gallery, Dalzell Dairy, 9 Bean Rows, Martinson Funeral Home, Bahle Farms Golf Course, Ride Leelanau E-Bikes, The Front Porch, Traverse City Pit Spitters, Fountain Point Resort, Suttons Bay Early Childhood Initiative, VI Grill & Fiddleheads, Bay Community Theatre, Midwest Exteriors, Martha’s Leelanau Table, North Country Bar & Grill, Plant Masters, and Bistro Polaris at Black Star Farms.

“We are thrilled with the engagement from both students and businesses this year,” said Cris Porter, Human Resource Director for Suttons Bay Public Schools. “Our goal has always been to provide students with a pathway to real-world work experience, and this event continues to open doors for them.”
