The Friendship Community Center will host a Leelanau County Volunteer Fair, May 19, an event designed to connect Leelanau County residents with local nonprofit organizations.
The Fair, scheduled from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Friendship Community Center in Suttons Bay, will provide a unique opportunity for community members to learn more about the various nonprofit organizations that contribute to the vibrant fabric of Leelanau County.
Attendees will be able to meet representatives from a diverse array of local nonprofits, discover their missions, and explore ways to get involved.
“Volunteering is a powerful way to strengthen our community and connect with others who share similar passions,” said Courtney Gorman, Volunteer Director at Friendship Community Center and Leelanau Investing for Teens (LIFT). “We encourage everyone to come out, learn about the meaningful work happening in our community, and consider how they can contribute their time and talents.”
The event will feature:
• Informational tables set up by local nonprofits, including organizations focused on environmental conservation, education, health services, and community support.
• Opportunities for attendees to ask questions, sign up for volunteer opportunities, and receive volunteer resources.
• Light refreshments and a welcoming atmosphere to foster community connections.
Whether you’re an experienced volunteer or looking to make your first step in community service, the Volunteer Fair is a perfect opportunity to find a cause that resonates with you. Together, we can create lasting impacts and improve the quality of life for all residents of Leelanau County.
