The magnificent Leelanau golf season is upon us as local courses opened this week for the season.
The Dunes Golf Club, Northport Creek, and Sugar Loaf The Old Course are all open as of last week.
“It’s nice to be back open. We’ve had a lot of tree limbs cleaned up over the Spring from heavy winter storms,” Northport Creek Director of Golf Chris McCann said. “The course really greened in a week and is in great shape for early spring.”
Northport Creek will be in its first full summer with new GPS carts to track every shot.
“Right now through Memorial Day’s green fee is $15 for nine and double ($30) for 18-holes and $12 for cart fees,” McCann said.
For The Dunes Golf Club, the course is in great shape.
“The views are as stunning as ever, and we can’t wait to welcome both returning members and new guests. Whether you’re here for a quick nine, a full round, or just to enjoy the fresh air and scenery, we’re ready to make this season one to remember,” Dunes Golf Club said in a Facebook post.
Sugar Loaf The Old Course has dusted off the clubs as the course is ready to rock after a hibernating winter. The course is coming off a summer high in visitors last year along with notable renovations including tree removal.
Bahle Farms opened last Sunday while the Manitou Passage will be opening today.
Bahle Farms will be hosting a Suttons Bay Sports Boosters Golf Scramble Sunday, May 18.
Event registration & silent auction begin at 8 a.m. with $100 per golfer and $400 per team that includes greens fee, lunch & prizes. Call the course with any questions.
The Manitou Passage is ready for another exciting season from the foothills of Sugar Loaf.
“We are excited for this season for a lot of reasons. The course is in good shape although
it was not the easiest winter. We are already booking tee times and groups for the spring and summer. We have repeat guests seen in the past that want to come back,” Manitou Passage General Manager Josh Schlump said.
The course has completed several projects and bunker renovations while removing some trees to help golfers find their balls in the notorious thick jungle that once was the ‘King’s Challenge Golf Course.’
The Manitou Passage will be continuing its juniors 17-andunder play free with an adult paid round this season. They will also offer some deals in May before historically, golf prices jump up at all courses come June and July.
“Come on out and take advantage,” Josh said. “reveamping cocktail and food menu.”
