The Northern Michigan Brass Band (NMiBB) will present a concert at 3 p.m. Sunday at the Northport Performing Arts Center.
Continuing their long-standing tradition of programming something for everyone, this 30-piece, British-style brass band will perform an eclectic mix of traditional brass band classics, marches, transcriptions, contemporary pieces, pop and jazz.
NMiBB last played in Northport in the fall of 2008 when they presented a program with Ken Bloomquist as a guest conductor.
“Not everyone listens to music in the same way. Some people listen with their heads, others with their hearts and still others with their feet,” conductor Ralph Schweigert said. “NMiBB includes music that will appeal to each of these listening styles in every concert.”
The concert is free to all students. Tickets are $15 for nonstudents and are available at the door, at northportperformingarts. org, or by calling the office at 231-386-2009.
