Leelanau’s agricultural heritage will be celebrated Sunday, May 18 at historic Ruby Ellen Farm in Bingham Township.
Scheduled from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., the event will feature “Gently Giant” draft horses, which will plow the soil as done by the farm’s earlier settlers.
The horses are courtesy of the Northwest Michigan Draft Horse and Mule Association.
There will also be wagon rides, harnessing and other demonstrations. The farm features four museums; hands-on activities; free seedling for kids; a miniature horse; antique vehicles; and food sales.
