To the editor:
When someone as outspoken on green energy as Joe DeFors publicly endorses a candidate for the Cherryland Electric Cooperative board, it’s important to take notice. Mr. DeFors previously supported the solar panel project that, thanks to opposition from many county residents, did not move forward. That proposal raised critical questions about priorities, costs, and long-term benefits for taxpayers.
Now Mr. DeFors has endorsed Jim Dyer, a candidate who has expressed support for expanding solar and wind energy. While renewable energy has its place, Cherryland members deserve a balanced and practical approach — especially when costs and reliability are on the line.
