The Leelanau Prospectors Club,, which over the course of 36 years has awarded more than $189,000 through 118 scholarships, has named six high school seniors and three post-secondary residents as 2025 recipients. Some $16,500 was awarded in total. Most scholarships are for $2,000.
The Prospectors Club has evolved in recent years to boost the careers of adults seeking to return to college or train for a trade. Recipients of those awards are:
• Jenna Peplinski of Cedar, who is taking summer classes at Northwestern Michigan College toward a bachelor’s degree in business.
