Many people know and love the local staple, Deeps Corner Store, but few know the woman behind it. Angela Dhami has had a successful life in business, raising three kids, and traveling a bit of the world while she does it.
Angela grew up on the Fiji Islands before moving to the Napa Valley area in California in 1984. Dhami ran an Indian grocery store in California while her husband and brotherin- law drove taxis and worked at a 7-Eleven. Ever the entrepreneur, Dhami and her family moved to Michigan for business opportunities and affordability. They first settled in Kingsley, where they own a gas station and still have a house next door, before moving up to Northport.
Angela and her husband bought the boarded up property that would become Deeps in the spring of 2011 after spotting it through a broker in the winter, and ended up naming the store after her husband.
