Dyer loses Cherryland bid

Concerns about the candidacy of the county administrator for the Cherryland Electric Cooperative board are moot, based on election results announced Thursday.

Long Lake Township resident Dean Adams topped membership votes with 2,471. Former county commissioner Melinda Lautner, incumbent, garnered support from 2,359.

Leland Township resident, Brian Fenlon, had 1,336 votes and Leelanau County administrator James Dyer of Suttons Bay, 1,097.
