It’s almost fruit season on the Leelanau Peninsula as strawberries are expected to come in over the next week while cherries estimates are expected to be down.
Greg Williams of Williams Leelanau Orchards says he’s expecting about 10% of his crop to come in this year after spring frost wrecked havoc across the peninsula.
“Ten percent across the board from what we normally have,” Williams said. “The frost obviously affected the crop, but the drought last summer might have been another factor.”
