From state champion to Mr. Golf, recent Glen Lake graduate Michael Houtteman completed a season defined by excellence and leadership.
“After my season last year, I felt I could actually play with these guys, and so going into this season, I wanted to have a pretty good year,”Houtteman said. “You always want to win a state championship. Still, this award was my goal because it compares you to not only kids in your division, especially as a small Division 4 school, but every single player in the entire state.”
The Mr. Golf award is awarded by the Michigan Interscholastic Golf Coaches Association. This represents the highest honor a high school boys golfer can receive in the state.
