BLOTTER

BLOTTER
A sunken barge which served as an eyesore along the West Bay shoreline has been removed. Donald Balcom of Traverse City said he sold the barge Monday, shortly after a tow boat and construction crew dislodged it from the spot south of Suttons Bay where it sat beached since 2023. Balcom appeared in 13th Circuit Court earlier this month to report on the status of the barge, one year after pleading guilty to a charge of water resources protection violations. He had been given one year to remove the barge from shoreline property in Bingham Township. Enterprise photo by Ken Lorincz
