In the early dew, serenaded by chattering birds, a cheerful and revenantial ceremony takes place each July 4th morning in Glen Arbor. Each year the Glen Lake Women’s Club (GLWC) hosts a flag raising ceremony at Old Settlers Park to kick off the day’s Fourth of July celebrations.
This year’s ceremony will be at 10 a.m. with the flag raising led by Glen Lake Fire Department Chief Bryan Ferguson. After the raising there will be a sing along of popular traditional patriotic songs.
Decorated Vietnam veteran, author, and retired business owner Gene Kelly will be the featured speaker this year.
