Divorce is tough and often messy. Even close friends stay clear, wary of picking a side.
Ken Fosmore, who had already found the love of his life during a chance visit to the Pancake Chef in Mackinaw City, didn’t need to pick a side to know he could help a friend. Ken’s son, Bryan, tells the story.
“One of his buddies was going through a divorce. Dad asked, ‘Are you going to have enough money for Christmas? His friend said, ‘I don’t know, Ken.’ When his buddy got back to his truck there was $700 lying on the seat,” Always-smiling Ken Fosmore, who died peacefully at home on June 24, was an enigma to the trials of life. He took personally the financial challenges faced by the Glen Lake community, and set about conquering them. When regional growth pushed distance among neighbors and the digital age encouraged isolation, Fosmore endeavored harder to bring people together.
