The Glen Lake Association (GLA) was founded in 1945 with a mission to protect and preserve the cherished Glen Lake/ Crystal River watershed. Since its inception the GLA has never had an executive director and instead has been run by a board of directors, a small staff, and volunteers from the community.

Following the departure of a long time staff member and facing increasing challenges from heavy lake traffic, invasive species, and the desire for more local education, the GLA made the decision to find their first executive director.

Enter, Kate Gille, a Michigan native, Michigan State University alumna, former Sleeping Bear Dunes park ranger, and now the first executive director of the Glen Lake Association.
