VFW launches campaign to update hall

They’ve done their part. Now they need help.

Members of VFW Post 7731 have launched an $800,000 fundraising campaign to support an update of the hall which has been at the center of the Lake Leelanau community for generations.

Nearly 80 years have passed since the VFW Post was mustered on June 8, 1946. The hall has been the center of activity for Leelanau County since the early 1950s when GIs, who returned from World War II, volunteered their labor and scraped up enough materials to build a place for the community to gather.
