Another Fourth of July in the book and I think this was one of the busiest I have seen. The weather held out for all the visitors, a lot of fireworks on the beach and our forest is still standing and I am sure a good time was had by all.
The “Anything Goes” parade was it’s usual success and no one was run over diving for candy. It was a little different this year with the people standing in the road, a lot of military vehicles, the Parade Marshal was a picture of the man that usually drove the car carrying the marshal, a fitting send off, and it appeared as though walkers were discouraged, but there were a few. Apparently some are disappointed because they are unable to spray water all over, to bad, it is better for all the others. Hopefully water will never be allowed.
The Glen Lake Fire and Rescue Pancake Breakfast was well attended and I am sure everyone was satisfied with the great breakfast.
