Hats off to Shady Trails

To the editor:

Leelanau County has an amazing youth day camp-Shady Trails, north of Omena. Thanks to her purchase of the property and commitment to the community, Laura Deibel has single handily afforded children the opportunity to explore nature and themselves since 1998. Twenty-seven years and well over 2700 campers have spent weeks doing archery, field sports, arts & crafts, swimming, tennis, and more. The staff is dedicated to encouraging youth to be inspired, independent and grounded. Thank goodness for this camp.
