Lake Leelanau resident Stacy Filipkowski has had a long road to opening her farmstand on South Lake Leelanau Drive.
“If you had told me a year ago, I was going to be baking bread. I don’t know if it’s something I fell into, and I loved it. We’re doing bread and baked goods, but we’d like to do some microgreens,” she said. “There’ll be fresh flowers. Eventually, we’d like to get to lavender and some fruit. We have plans, as with farming, but with anything, it takes time.”
Farmstands across Leelanau are special places where homesteads offer the area’s authentic taste in a space where grocery stores and restaurants often fall short. Around every corner, there is a local farmstand that needs the support of locals and visitors alike.
