North of Suttons Bay is the TLC Farm, which has a different way of growing the produce through hydroponics.
“It’s like a math equation,” said TLC co-owner Anne Cunningham. “We need to put in this much calcium, this much potassium, this much nitrogen, and it’s super organic. We don’t buy any mixes, we mix it all by hand so we know exactly what nutrients are going into it.”
TLC uses hydroponics to start growing their produce in January, which helps them get a start on the summer rush and be able to produce throughout the summer.
