The 13th Annual Port Oneida Run will take place on Saturday, Aug. 2, 2025, an event of the nonprofit park partner Preserve Historic Sleeping Bear. The run starts and ends at the big red barn at the Olsen Farm/Port Oneida Farms Heritage Center, 3164 W. Harbor Hwy, (M-22) Maple City, just 4 miles north of Glen Arbor.

The run offers three spectacular courses: Homesteaders Hilly Half Marathon, and the Tiller’s 10k have new courses this year that go up past Pyramid Point trailhead. Both combine trail running, gravel back roads, and pavement; The Farmers Flat and Fast 5K, is a popular route running out and back on the Heritage Trail and Basch Road in Port Oneida. Strollers and leashed dogs are welcome on the 5K.

The only race of its kind, the courses wind through the beautiful scenery of Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore’s Port Oneida Rural Historic District. “With its historic farms and barns, Port Oneida is hailed as one of the most prized historic landscapes in the country and should be on every runner’s bucket list,” says Preserve Historic Sleeping Bear Executive Director, Susan Pocklington. “We love having many returning runners each year.”
