Goffar Barn: saving a structure in Port Oneida

Goffar Barn: saving a structure in Port Oneida
Preserve Historic Sleeping Bear director Susan Pocklington stand in fron of the Goffar barn back in 2023 before it was moved 80 feet back before being swallowed by Narada Lake and its beavers.

The Sleeping Bear Dunes less-traveled gem, the Port Oneida Rural District, where the rustic life of Leelanau’s past meets the beautiful shoreline of Lake Michigan.

Port Oneida is known for its farmstand with over 20, and with that, comes plenty of projects.

The Goffar Barn, in particular, was a massive undertaking in moving the barn back to escape the grasp of Narada Lake.
