Loons on the Lake

The beautifully haunting calls of Loons echo across the still waters of Fisher Lake in Glen Arbor this summer. In late June residents on Fisher Lake met the new loon family that has moved in.

The family of three has been seen mostly on the southern portion of the lake near a small cove where it is assumed their nest was built. The chick has been seen hitching a ride on its mom’s back and paddling by itself.

Local loon lovers have posted on community Facebook pages alerting people of the loon’s presence and urging watercraft users to be cautious.
