The Leland Township board unanimously approved to move forward with a proposal for Hancock Field design and cost plans from Gosling Czubak Engineering Sciences at their regular meeting on July 14. The final conceptual plan is estimated to not exceed $9,300, and was the lowest cost of five bids that the township board reviewed.
Gosling Czubak provided a design and cost proposal outlining the process of the project and what would need to be done. In the proposal, it explains their work approach, noting Leland Township’s desires to improve Hancock Park.
“While portions of the park are used and managed by Leland Schools, the planned Township improvement area will be focused at and nearest to the existing parking area and northern portions of the site,” the Gosling Czubak proposal states. “The Township has long intended to improve this park and its public amenities to serve users from young to old. As described in the request for proposals, the planned project components and program will achieve this goal by providing new and desired recreation opportunities for the residents and visitors of Leland Township.”
