The historic Glen Lake Manor in Empire Township is now on the market after years of care and renovation completed by the current owners, Sue (Wright) Rife and Rob Rife.
Earlier this month, the Rife’s announced the update via the Manor’s website, noting that while their original vision was to restore and reopen it themselves, they ultimately decided that it was best to place the property up for sale at this time in their life.
“Over the past five years, we’ve poured our hearts into envisioning a revitalized future for this special place — completing renovations, working closely with the Empire Planning Commission, and designing thoughtful plans to bring new life to the Manor. While we’ve made significant progress, we’ve come to realize that completing this project is more than we can take on at this stage in our lives,” the Rife’s statement read. “As our family grows — with the joyful arrival of our first grandchild, Eleanor Abigail Rife — and as we navigate some unexpected health needs, our focus is shifting toward cherishing time with loved ones and embracing the next chapter of our retirement. Our greatest hope is to find the right buyer — someone who shares our vision and appreciation for this historic gem, and who will continue to breathe life into its role as a meaningful part of the Empire Township community.”
