Saturday, August 2, The Folded Leaf will host a Benefit Concert and Silent Auction to help support suicide prevention for LGBTQ+ youth locally and nationwide.
“Suicide is something that is really near and dear to my heart,” said Rachel Zemanek, owner of The Folded Leaf. “This event is to show the community that we support our LGBTQ+, especially with the recent defunding of the National Suicide Hotline.”
The event starts at 2 p.m. and will be hosted at the Folded Leaf’s cedar location on Kasson Street. The artists performing are Sierra Cassidy, The Lofteez, and Amber Hasan. The silent auction will have local items from Shorts Brewing, Interlochen Center for the Arts, Bee Well, Dana C. Fear, and more.
