Just as words matter, numbers matter. The U.S. unemployment rate dropped to 3.7% in September 2023 –– the lowest since 1969. 2022 and 2023 were the strongest years of job growth in U.S. history. Nearly 11 million jobs were created since 2021, including 750,000 new manufacturing jobs. The annual inflation rate dropped from 6.4% in January 2023 to 3.1% in November 2023. The Dow is now at an all time high of over 37,000. The minimum wage for Federal workers and contractors is now $15 an hour. Gas prices in Michigan are below three dollars. With President Biden’s unwavering support, the United Auto Workers ended their nearly 45-day set of strikes and ratifi ed new contracts with the Big Three automakers, securing raises of at least 25 percent over 4½ years. President Biden’s numbers add up to a stronger economy thanks in large part to the Bi-Partisan Infrastructure Law and the Inflation Reduction Act. This November must be about results, not retribution. Americans have one vote. That number always matters.
