Billions in foreign aid

To the editor:

I have been pondering something for days. There are some mysteries in this country that continue to go unexplained, or we’re given an explanation that makes little or no sense to a common, critical thinking, middle class American like myself.

The most glaring one is, “Why is it that billions of our tax dollars are sent over to foreign countries in order to protect their borders, yet the politicians who are spending our money can’t seem to find the money to close our southern border?” This is not a bipartisan concern, but a United States of America concern. I would ask that every fellow American would do some critical thinking and search for some reasonable answer that benefits our entire country and not a select few. If we don’t figure this out we will fall like Rome. According to Wynnewood Institute scholar Thomas Patrick Burke D.Phil.,D.Ph., Rome fell because they failed to take control of their immigration issues, and they were too busy fighting battles in the middle east. Sound familiar?
