Scott and Patrice (Popp) Korson of Leelanau County

Scott and Patrice (Popp) Korson of Leelanau County are pictured at The Northwest Michigan Fair's 3rd annual "Vows with the Cows" event on Sunday. The event gives people the chance to renew wedding vows with their partner while being around cows. A total of 10 couples renewed their vows, two of which with Leelanau County roots. The celebrant, Carolyne Woodhams, read the following speech to those attendance: "Romance is fun, but true love is something far more and it is their desire to love each other for life that is what we are celebrating here today. But today is also a celebration for the rest of us, for it is a pleasure for us to see love in bloom, and to participate in this joyous celebration. The key to love is understanding. The key to love is forgiveness, to accept each others faults and pardon mistakes. The key to love is sharing, facing good fortune as well as the bad together. The key to love is respect, realizing that you are two separate people, with different ideas - that you don't belong to each other – but rather you belong with each other."
