Tucked off of M-22 along West Grand Traverse Bay, Michigan’s own Inn at Black Star Farms (BSF) has been named the best wine country hotel in America by USA Today’s 10 Best Readers’ Choice Awards for 2025. The Inn claimed the top spot ahead of more than a dozen elite competitors, including several in California and Oregon, while its neighbor across the bay, Chateau Chantal, earned second place.
USA Today’s awards process featured expert-curated nominees, with readers casting votes over a 28-day period to decide the winners.
“We’re just really honored to be able to represent hospitality in northern Michigan, along with our friends on Old Mission Peninsula. It goes to show the diligence that our team puts in both during hours and after hours to make sure that our inn stays are memorable, pleasing, and amazing experiences that make guests want to come back again,” said managing owner Sherri Campbell Fenton.
