Omena Cut Flowers owner Carolyn Faught will partner with the nonprofit “blooms-4good” on Saturday from noon to 5 p.m. to raise awareness and funds for Peninsula Housing, a community land trust dedicated to providing secure, affordable housing for Leelanau County.
Every dollar spent on flowers or wrapped bouquets at Faught’s farm and at Bahle’s sidewalk sale on Saturday will be donated to Peninsula Housing’s cause.
Faught said affordable housing is a big problem nationwide and in the region, and Peninsula Housing founder Larry Mawby is doing his part in the county to find solutions to the problem.
