Dyer employment review today

Commissioners will meet this morning to go over the results of a four-month employment review of county administrator Jim Dyer.

Board Chairman Steve Yoder suggested the review during the board’s July 15 regular meeting, calling it a “wise thing to do.”

Dyer began his employment with the county March 31 and has seemingly been under the gun since. Shortly after taking the post, he became a candidate for the Cherryland Electric Board of Directors, a move which some board members and vocal community members questioned. Dyer lost his bid. However, criticism lingers as they state the candidacy violated his employment contract with the county. This despite an opinion from legal counsel to the contrary.
