Even with the school year around the corner, there are still several organizations that host affordable or free events throughout the year.
“We try to find a reasonable mix of different activities that might appeal to different kids,” said Erin Connolly, youth services coordinator for Leelanau Township Library. “We do kids’ craft afternoons every Wednesday through the school year, in December it usually transitions to a kids’ craft cookie and cocoa night. We do Wiggler Story time on Thursday mornings, and then we periodically have afternoon or Saturday morning activities.”
Wigglers Storytime and the Kids Crafternoon are free of charge, with the crafternoon having the option to craft with imagination or follow the weekly craft.
