Acclaimed guitarist, composer, and producer Joe Taylor will perform at The Homestead Thursday, Aug. 21.
The show is Taylor’s debut appearance in Michigan, and part of the resort’s popular Music on the Mountain series. Music on the Mountain returned this year for the first time since before the pandemic, featuring a variety of artists performing at the top of the resort’s ski hill against a backdrop of sunset over the sparkling waters of Sleeping Bear Bay.
While Taylor is considered a jazz musician, a label he heartily embraces, his music incorporates a dizzying variety of styles. Country, chill, rock, pop and other elements infuse his musical palette. He has released over a dozen albums, including two under the Oracle sobriquet incorporating ambient and Celtic characteristics. His compositions “Delphin’s Daughter” and “Meet Your Mother at the Rocket” remain staples of instrumental and smooth jazz stations.
