‘Wonka’ a huge success

To the editor:

Northport Performing Arts Center recently produced the musical Charlie and the Chocolate Factory at the NPAC auditorium. All our performers, crew, and pit band were comprised of local talent. As you may already know, the talent in this area is extensive, with many current and past professionally trained musicians and actors. The call to perform brought a talented cast together for Charlie. But not all participants were experienced in musical theatre, and some had never been in a play before. Under the guidance of Mary Newman (director), Fred Szczepanski (music director), Bobbie Lange (pit band conductor), and Joe Thatcher (stage manager), the cast and crew brought Charlie to life in a mere six weeks, delighting audiences of all ages over six performances.

The Northport Performing Arts Center wants to thank all sponsors, donors, and volunteers for enabling the community to experience Charlie Bucket’s quest to keep Willy Wonka Chocolate alive. We appreciate your support and hope you’ll come to our other events in 2025.
