A statewide plan to invest $800 million over five years to building more attainable housing was unveiled this week in Lansing.
Lead by the Michigan Municipal League (MML), a housing advocate and support association, the Michigan Home Program is a multi-million dollar plan MML officials said will modernize local zoning rules, boost housing construction and help accelerate housing development across the state.
The plan calls for a $160 million annual investment from the state over five years that program officials said will lead to the development of more than 10,000 attainable housing units.
