A request for a speed study on Western Avenue in Glen Arbor failed to get the backing of the Glen Arbor Township Board this week.
The board, with trustee Bob Hawley absent, voted unanimously to deny a request made at its July meeting for a speed study on the road which is also M-22, a state highway.
Residents suggested that the 35 mph speed limit is too high due to the high volume of traffic through Glen Arbor’s business district, presenting a possible danger to pedestrians and cyclists.
