With technology becoming more advanced, educators are less hesitant to accept the usage of artificial intelligence (A.I.).
“We focus on academic and integrity as a standard base for making sure that students are being active with integrity with their work,” Jason Misner, superintendent for Glen Lake Community Schools said. “AI is a tool that can make our lives easier, we need to learn and teach our kids how to appropriately use it when the time and place is.” Misner said they continue to update their policy, but when used properly, it can be a helpful tool in the classroom. Misner compared the usage of AI to calculators when he said that math wasn’t stopped being taught when calculators were invented.
Suttons Bay Public Schools is taking a similar approach as Glen Lake.
