To the editor:
Many thanks to Meakalia Previch-Liu for her editorial in last weeks paper supporting Public Broadcasting and NPR. Those are such important sources for information, education, humor, culture, science, local news and events. It’s an important alternative to meganews, sponsored by mega corporate interests. Journalists and journalism are under attack by this current administration. We need colorful and critical views of life locally and around the world. This head of state is cutting it to black and white, good and bad, us and them; a very narrow, selfish vision of this vibrant world. Democracy depends on journalists and journalism that are honest and critical!!! PBS and NPR are sources of that I believe. Thank You for supporting them Meakalia! Our current “leader” would rather spend public funds on ballrooms for private parties than on news rooms for public knowledge.
