Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore (National Lakeshore) will be hosting weekly programs on Saturdays.
Programs on Saturday, Jan. 20, will feature Anishinaabe historian Eric Hemenway. In the morning, at 10, he will be leading a guided hike focused on survival strategies and traditional Anishinaabe activities during the season of biboon (winter).
Reservations will be required for this hike. Between 1 and 3 p.m. at the Philip A. Hart Visitor Center, Hemenway will also share about traditional Anishinaabe art. Paper materials will be provided to create a simple paper basket. This is an informal table talk and activity; stop in anytime between 1 and 3 p.m.
