Workshop continues attainable housing discussion

A community housing workshop organized by the nonprofit Housing North, the Village of Northport, and Leelanau Township was held on Aug. 26 and continued the discussion of attainable housing in Leelanau County.

The housing workshop/informational meeting was the second of its kind this year organized by the municipalities and held at the school. In April, Northport and Leelanau Township hosted its first joint housing discussion that was open to community members interested in learning about pressing housing needs and potential solutions.

While public attendance was significantly less than the first workshop, a number of Northport Village Council and Leelanau Township board members were present to participate in the informational discussion.
