Route changes announced for Harvest Tour

Final registration is underway for the 40th annual Leelanau Harvest (LHT) bicycle tour on Saturday, September 20, with major route changes in store for this year’s event.

“We have designed all new routes, including more picturesque as well as safer routes, waterfront food stops and a finish line picnic at Suttons Bay,” says Rick Venner, the tour director and vice president of the Cherry Capital Cycling Club (CCCC), which hosts the event.

Venner notes that in the past, the bike tour ranged as far west as the Homestead resort in Leelanau County with 25, 40, 66 and 100mile routes. This year’s tour, however, will have more of a northern direction with routes 18, 38 and 70 miles with the 70-mile going to the Grand Traverse Lighthouse.
