Board stands by 2% policy

The county Board of Commissioners this week stood by its 2% application review policy in July.

Yet, one commissioner continues to question support of requests from non-profits and other organizations.

District 2 commissioner Will Bunek failed to get behind applications from Leelanau Senior Services on behalf of Leelanau Christian Neighbors; ShareCare of Leelanau and a request from Housing North, the regional housing advocacy group. These requests represent more than 85% of the total of $178,000 being requested.
